    Top cadets for Ohio squadron recognized with awards

    OHIO – Three Licking County Composite Squadron cadets were recognized with awards for outstanding performance during a ceremony June 5 at the unit’s headquarters in Newark.
     
    Cadet Senior Master Sgt. Cody Goodman was presented with the U.S. Air Force Sergeants Association Unit Noncommissioned Officer of the Year Award, recognizing outstanding achievement and exceptional leadership ability by a squadron cadet NCO.
     
    Cadet Tech. Sgt.  Charles Burwell received the Veterans of Foreign Wars Unit Cadet NCO of the Year Award, presented to a squadron cadet NCO who exemplifies exceptional leadership and patriotism and displays outstanding military bearing and conduct, both in and out of uniform.
     
    Cadet 2nd Lt. Jesse Church was recognized with the Veterans of Foreign Wars Unit Cadet Officer of the Year Award, given to the squadron cadet officer who demonstrates exceptional leadership in Civil Air Patrol and outstanding achievement in community service and the cadet program’s aerospace and leadership facets.
