NEVADA – Cadet 2nd Lt. Marjorie Franzen of the Nellis Composite Squadron has been cited for her performance as a cadet noncommissioned officer with the presentation of a Certificate of Recognition from the Air Force Sergeants Association.
The award, presented annually by the association to the top cadet NCO in each Civil Air Patrol squadron, recognizes outstanding achievement and exceptional leadership ability. This year's award for the Nellis squadron was presented on the association’s behalf U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Vladimir Ongaco during his visit to Nellis Air Force Base, where the Nellis squadron meets, from Beale AFB, Calif.
Franzen joined CAP in June 2010. She recently graduated with honors from Advanced Technologies Academy in Las Vegas and will enter the University of Nevada, Reno, as a freshman this fall, majoring in biology.
Franzen has attended basic cadet encampment and serves as the squadron’s cadet flight commander.
