MISSOURI – The Missouri Wing is expanding its online presence, having recently released its sixth episode of MOCAPTV, a video newsmagazine featuring stories from around the wing.
The idea for the webcast -- hosted by Lt. Col. Brad Sanker, the wing’s chief of staff – stemmed from the popularity of the live streaming of an annual wing conference. Those who weren’t able to attend praised that production for allowing members, family and friends to watch the awards ceremony. Public affairs officers and other members soon took up the concept and formed the MOCAPTV team.
When he met with the team, Sanker told its members, "Contributing to the show is simple -- all you need is a story and a camera. Today, most members carry a cell phone with a built-in camera."
The wing invested in a professional HD camera and video software for final production. The team provides the stories and field reporting. In addition, content is accepted from membership.
The show airs every other week and is available on the Missouri Wing’s website and through the wing’s social media outlets.
"With all the advances in social media, it only makes since to leverage these resources to get the message out about Civil Air Patrol."
