ARIZONA – Lt. Col. Robert L. Ditch, the Arizona Wing’s director of emergency services, has been recognized by the Arizona Emergency Services Association with its 2012 Excellence in Emergency Management Award.
Ditch’s efforts were instrumental in the wing’s becoming part of the Arizona Department of Emergency Management statewide notification system. He has also led numerous lifesaving missions.
In announcing the award at the association’s annual conference July 25 in Chandler, Wendy Smith-Reeve, the group’s president, told Ditch that “Arizona has been the fortunate recipient of your tireless service as the director of emergency services with the Arizona Civil Air Patrol. Your hard work, dedication and good service are recognized not only within our state but also across the nation.”

Ditch, a certified emergency manager, was also honored as the wing’s 2012 Senior Member of the Year for the Arizona Wing and received an Exceptional Service Award from the wing as well
