CAP members encouraged to register now for annual conference

July 8, 2010

MAXWELL AIR FORCE BASE, Ala. – Time is drawing near for the 2010 Civil Air Patrol Annual Conference & National Board in San Diego, prompting CAP National Commander Maj. Gen. Amy S. Courter to encourage members to consider early registration.

“Our annual conference is a celebration of you — your membership, your service to America and your extraordinary achievements above and beyond the call of duty,” said Courter. “I am looking forward to the chance of greeting each and every one of you, of honoring you with much-deserved awards and of participating alongside you in training seminars customized to fulfill your unique needs.”

The annual conference will be Sept. 1-4 at the San Diego Marriott Marina. It will include the National Board meeting as well as pre-conference training classes and learning labs.

There are several cost savings available to members who register early:

  • The conference fee for members who register by midnight on July 18 will be only $89; after that date, the fee jumps to $130.

  • Members registering by July 18 will automatically be entered in the drawing for a free laptop computer.

  • The official CAP lodging rate of $149 is available until Aug. 11; this rate will increase after that date, too, and room availability may be limited.

Registration for the annual conference can be completed through CAP’s website.

“Now’s the time to register to get the best value and to ensure your participation in this special celebration of you and your CAP membership,” Courter said. “I am looking forward to seeing you there.”
