ALABAMA -- Lasting more than three months, the BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill response involved more than 200 aircraft — many of them Civil Air Patrol Cessnas. The CAP fleet, coupled with U.S. Coast Guard aircraft, and countless others, formed one of the largest and most intricately coordinated civil air support missions in the nation’s history.
