WEST VIRGINIA -- A 14-year-old Civil Air Patrol cadet is being hailed as a hero for his efforts to prevent his 4-year-old cousin from choking on a wad of bubble gum. Cadet Senior Master Sgt. Dakota Workman of West Virginia Wing's Boone Composite Squadron told the local newspaper, the Coal Valley Times, CPR and First Aid training he received the week before through Civil Air Patrol helped him know what to do. "I am so thankful for that CPR class and the Civil Air Patrol," said Dakota's mother Monica Ballard. "I can't imagine what would have happened if Dakota hadn't just learned those things at (the CAP) meeting."
