Wash. squadron collecting care package items for U.S. soliders, Afghan civilans

WASHINGTON – The Peninsula Composite Squadron’s drive to collect items for care packages for soldiers in and residents of Afghanistan is the focus ofa ”Bremerton Patriot” article. The unit’s cadet commander, Cadet 1st Lt. George Nye, and Cadet Airman Dakota Fleck, are quoted, as is Fleck’s mother, Senior Member Janet Fleck, whose son got the idea to involve the squadron in the Operation Support Freedom campaign after his mother’s cousin, a contractor working in Afghanistan, told her of the hardships Afghans regularly endure.
