Ohio Wing pastor nabs car burglary suspect during Sunday school

OHIO -- 1st Lt. Matthew Bates, "Pastor Matt" to his parishoners at Colliers Church of the Nazarene, stopped a car burglary in progress Sunday morning by tackling the suspect outside the church, pinning him on the ground and holding him until police arrived -- all while Sunday school was in progress. Bates is deputy commander for cadets and the emergency services officer for Ohio Wing's Tusco Composite Squadron in New Philadelphia. He is also a former Marine who holds a black belt in martial arts.
