Ill. cadets get a chance to test their wings

July 29, 2010

ILLINOIS Cadets like Bailey Hoffeditz participating in Civil Air Patrol’s McHenry County Composite Squadron get a chance to learn about flying and get familiar to military life before making plans for their future. Hoffeditz, a cadet chief master sergeant and flight sergeant for the Illinois Wing squadron, has yet to decide whether she will join the Air Force or go to college after high school, where she plans to major in international relations. “[Joining the Air Force is] something I’ve been considering off and on, but that’s why I’m really glad I joined the program,” she said. “It’s given me a taste, however small, of what military life might be.”
