Hanscom Aero Club manager earns Air Force honors

MASSACHUSETTS -- Steven Bates was recently named the Air Force Community Services Flight Manager of the Year for his business acumen in managing the Hanscom Air Fore Base Aero Club in 2009. Despite an economic slowdown, Bates turned a small loss in fiscal year 2008 into a substantial profit in 2009, thereby earning the manager of the year honors. In addition, Bates is an active member of the Civil Air Patrol, serving as first lieutenant with the Massachusetts Wing's Hanscom Composite Squadron.
