Combat vet shares Korean War experiences with Calif. Wing cadets

January 29, 2010

CALIFORNIA -- A group of about 50 Civil Air Patrol cadets from California Wing's Shasta Composite Squadron 126 in Redding, Calif., hosted a Korean War combat veteran Thursday. Jack Kilpatric, who served with the 7th Infantry Division, 32nd Regiment, 3rd Battalion, told the cadets he had "no fond memories" of the war, which marks its 60th anniversary in 2010. Kilpatric's visit with the cadets was well received. "These things teach us leadership," Cadet Airman Jacob Duncan told the Record Searchlight, "shows us what you might go through and gives us someone to look up to."
