March 15, 2010

GEORGIA -- Members of the Civil Air Patrol's Currahee Composite Squadron spent a recent Saturday morning helping Amy Smith, the wife of U.S. Army linguist Gordon Smith now serving in Afghanistan. The CAP volunteers cleared brush, repaired a backyard drainage ditch and performed general yard maintenance on the Smith property, located in Franklin County in northwest Georgia. "(We were) glad to be able to help the family in this way," said Lt. Col. David Roberts, commander of the squadron.
