Childhood cockpit visits lead to career as airline pilot, author

ILLINOIS -- Former CAP cadet Tonika Johnson has authored a children's book, "Nikki the Airline Pilot," which tells of her experiences as a black female commercial airline pilot. "It was a way to promote aviation education and to encourage children to read," said Johnson, in an interview with her hometown newspaper, the State Journal-Register in Springfield, Ill.
