Veronique Nicklas, 379th Expeditionary Medical Group superintendent, who re-enlisted for the final time Sept. 26 in southwest Asia after 30 years in the service, notes her involvement in Civil Air Patrol as a cadet during high school, including assisting at air shows in Oshkosh, Wis., and earning the Gen. Billy Mitchell Award, which gave her a leg up before basic training.
