Agreement allows CAP to continue maintenance of plane display

February 18, 2010

MICHIGAN -- A renewal agreement with the Department of the Air Force-National Museum of the United States Air Force will keep a military aircraft on display at the entrance of the Delta County Airport in Escanaba, Mich. The plane, a F-84F, is maintained by Civil Air Patrol Lt. Col. Don Poe and volunteers from CAP's Upper Michigan Group, of which Poe is deputy commander. Airport officials say Poe is responsible for organizing recent CAP efforts to repair the fighter's canopy and paint the aircraft.
