ILLINOIS -- Civil Air Patrol Cadet Maj. Josh Dovi had made nine flights at Coles County Memorial Airport in Mattoon as of Wednesday morning, and he thought it’s helped him along the way to his goal. The 20-year-old from Inverness, Fla., is one of 29 of this year’s cadets at the annual National Glider Academy at the airport. The academy and the Johnson Flight Encampment that took place last week are both Civil Air Patrol programs that have taken place at the airport each June since 1966 to help the youngsters learn about flying.
