Congressman remembers CAP members’ impact in House floor speech

    February 8, 2016

ALABAMA – U.S. Rep. Bradley Byrne, who represents Alabama’s 1st District, honored two Civil Air Patrol members from Alabama who died last week in a plane crash in Mobile. The congressman’s tribute was delivered in a speech from the floor of the House of Representatives. The two Alabamians, David Mauritson (Fairhope) and Phil Dryden (Gulf Shore), were completing a charity flight to Baton Rouge, La., where they helped transport a fellow citizen for medical care, when their plane went down. Rep. Bryne's tribute can be seen in this video taken from C-SPAN's regular coverage of the House.
