MASSACHUSETTS -- They are buried memories, “grains of salt” in a sea of experiences, that have stretched across his 87 years, John Maloney said. But when the Oxford resident read about a Milford cadet’s petitioning for a bill that would grant World War II-era Civil Air Patrol volunteers the Congressional Gold Medal, the memories began bubbling to the surface.
