    June 23, 2014

VERMONT -- The two remaining rescuers of a man stranded by the 1944 crash of an Army bomber on Camels Hump reconnected Friday in Montpelier with the children of the man whose life they saved in a ceremony at the Statehouse. Peter Mason and Rolland Lafayette, both high school students and members of Civil Air Patrol at the time of the crash, were presented with the state police's search and rescue award during the organization's annual promotion and award ceremony held in the House chamber.
